The last 20 years and the revolution of the internet and the computers has shaped tremendously the games kids have been playing. Most games until the 80s used to take place outdoors as kids’ activities were more physical and where consisting mainly of sports.

Judging whether the change has been for the kid’s benefit or not is something for the sociologists of the future to investigate and make conclusions. Older people, though, seem to disapprove that new lifestyle which is based on simulating any sort of physical activity from playing sports to feed animals, grow plants and even fall in love!

Nevertheless, when it comes to how much today’s kids know compared to older generations it seems that they know more as they are exposed to a greater deal of information through the internet, the TV and even the computer games.

It can be said that creativity and emotions into kids’ play has been remained pretty much the same although the way kids sense them has totally changes. As an example I will recall one of my favourite activities when I was a kid which was called ‘exploration’. The main principle of the game was to enter an abandoned massive building and wonder around it for hours trying to identify as many unusual objects as possible.

The peak of that game was the day we broke into that huge warehouse that was owned by a electrical components supplier who went bankrupt. In both cases, adrenaline is floating massively and the emotions are equal. Because of all the aforementioned reasons I am against all adults who disprove computer games as useless and dangerous just because the physical element is missing.
