Add Artificial Traffic To Your Flight Simulator

One of the best ways to learn how to fly an aircraft is with a simulator. In the beginning it’s essential learn the fundamentals of flight. Then you should learn the different controls of your selected aircraft. This might take some time until you have progressed to a stage where you feel at ease flying the plane. When you’re fairly confident in flying, the next step is to make the experience more realistic. Of course flying in a place with detailed scenery will make your flying feel a lot more real, especially if the area is familiar to you. After you are done admiring the landscapes and terrain, you might realize that it is very quiet in the skies. This is where an add-on called AI is a great addition to your flying experience.

In flight simulator terms, AI means artificially intelligent traffic. It helps to liven up the airports with traffic and can make your flying more realistic. It will make the airport come alive with a range of aircraft which are simulated to function as they might in a real airport situation. AI traffic started back with Microsoft 2002 with a few airliners and private aircraft. Since then, many 3rd party developers have developed additional models that are even more realistic. You need to watch out for AI traffic, as it is possible to crash and end your simulator session. You can also interact with the traffic and air traffic control, or just listen as the flights come and go.

In addition there are freeware developers of AI traffic, such as project AI. As well as a variety of aircraft models, it is possible to download aircraft textures to repaint aircraft, paint kits themselves and flight plans. Not satisfied with artificially controlled planes, some developers have also added ships. It is possible to add single or fleets of ships to your simulated world.

Computer Games Are Not As Bas As Most People Think

The last 20 years and the revolution of the internet and the computers has shaped tremendously the games kids have been playing. Most games until the 80s used to take place outdoors as kids’ activities were more physical and where consisting mainly of sports.

Judging whether the change has been for the kid’s benefit or not is something for the sociologists of the future to investigate and make conclusions. Older people, though, seem to disapprove that new lifestyle which is based on simulating any sort of physical activity from playing sports to feed animals, grow plants and even fall in love!

Nevertheless, when it comes to how much today’s kids know compared to older generations it seems that they know more as they are exposed to a greater deal of information through the internet, the TV and even the computer games.

It can be said that creativity and emotions into kids’ play has been remained pretty much the same although the way kids sense them has totally changes. As an example I will recall one of my favourite activities when I was a kid which was called ‘exploration’. The main principle of the game was to enter an abandoned massive building and wonder around it for hours trying to identify as many unusual objects as possible.

The peak of that game was the day we broke into that huge warehouse that was owned by a electrical components supplier who went bankrupt. It’s not easy to describe our emotions and curiosity each time we were coming across unusual objects varying from cable ties to circuit breakers, everything was really striking our childish’s minds.

Similarly, playing today a typical adventure game on a computer can lead to similar emotions if say; the main character is entering a similar building and is looking around for something interesting. In both cases, adrenaline is floating massively and the emotions are equal. Having the chance to experience both traditional games and the digital ones I can say that the emotional and mental excitement I was getting out of the two was equally important and by no means one was better than the other. Because of all the aforementioned reasons I am against all adults who disprove computer games as useless and dangerous just because the physical element is missing.
